Class-Voted Read Aloud: What Lane? by Torrey Maldonado

We voted on our first read aloud of the year: What Lane, by Torrey Maldonado! This story is a soft entrance into some discussion about racial tensions, friendships, family, and places of belonging. It’s a great first step into our collective thinking as a class. I encourage you, if you haven’t already, to have some conversations about race as a family. Read more about it to support our conversations at home HERE.

I’m “smiling with my eyes” 🙂

Check Out My Virtual Classroom!

The virtual classroom is a space for students to explore a bit about me and what I am passionate about, as well as explore some links that they’ll use.  By clicking on the images in the classroom, your child may find videos, photos, and books that I love and cannot wait to share with them! There’s even an activity hidden where students can create a slide that tells me a little bit about themselves! Have fun while we wait for our first day of school on Monday!
